Curriculum
Levels
Level 1: Level 1 is intended for children who are beginning to learn Arabic Language and have very little knowledge about Islam. This level will be divided into two parts.
Level 1A: Level 1A will include children who are under the age of eight years old. In this level, children will begin to learn the pronunciation of basic Arabic words, as well as the Alphabet letters associated with the words they learn. Children will have the opportunity to associate pictures with the words and will be able to recognize, pronounce and write the words and know their meanings. In the Quran class, children in this level will memorize short surahs from Juz’ Amma. Children will also know the meaning of the surahs they memorize as well as the occasion of the revelation. In the Islamic Studies class, children will learn about the basic principles of Islam, the oneness of Allah subhana wa ta’ala and Islamic Manners.
Level 1B: Level 1B will include children over eight years old. In this level, children will also begin with the basic Arabic words, but will also learn the Alphabet in details including the shape of the letter as it falls in different places of the word as well as the pronunciation of the letters with vowels. In the Quran class, the main focus will be on learning verses from different surahs of the Quran, know their meaning and how to apply them in their daily life. Children will also be taught how to read, write and memorize those verses. In the Islamic Studies class, children will learn about the pillars and basic beliefs of Islam, the life of the Prophet, some Hadith and the proper way of performing Salah.
Level 2: Level 2 is intended for Children who are already familiar with the Arabic Alphabet and know how to read some basic words on their own. In this level, children will expand on their Arabic knowledge and begin to read more difficult words, read with vowels and make sense of full sentences. In the Quran class, children in this level already know eight or more surahs from Juz’ Amma, they will learn, memorize and know the meaning of more surahs from Juz’ Amma. In the Islamic Studies class, children will expand more on their knowledge about Islam by learning more Hadith, the life of the Prophet, good manners, and how to respect parents and teachers.
Level 3: Level 3 Arabic class will focus on reading comprehension of small stories in Arabic. The class will begin to touch on basic grammar and the impact of the vowels on the meaning of the words. The Quran Class will focus on both, memorization and the teachings of the Quran taught in level 1B. In the Islamic Studies, the main focus of this class will be on the life of the Prophet, stories of the Prophets and some of the events that took place in his life.
Level 4: Level 4 Arabic class will focus on conversational Arabic, analyze stories and the grammar. In this level, we will continue to focus on more teachings of the Quran and how it applies to daily life as well as the memorization of Juz’ Amma. In the Islamic Studies class, we will continue to learn the life of the prophet, pillars of faith, worshipping Allah the proper way and developing a true Islamic Character.
Level 5: Level 5 Arabic class will continue focusing on conversational Arabic, analyze stories and the grammar. Quran class in this level will continue to focus on more teachings of the Quran and how it applies to daily life as well as reading and memorization of Juz’ Amma. In the Islamic Studies class, we will continue to learn the life of the prophet, pillars of faith, worshipping Allah the proper way and developing a true Islamic Character.
